THE CHRISTMAS GIFT

Merry Christmas, and may yours be truly full to overflowing with Jesus, the most wonderful gift ever given.  As a matter of fact, what would Christmas be without the Lord Jesus, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of man?  Many will spend this Christmas season consumed with the anticipation of gifts, shopping, decorations, or/and carols of ringing bells and white Christmases.  To so many December 25 will be simply christmas (intentional lower case).  But to those who have opened the Gift, that Gift that the Bible records  concerning  the shepherds when they were informed by the Angel of the Lord that a savoir had been born unto them ( – 12).  “…Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall  be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior, which is Christ the Lord.  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”  There, in that stable they saw it…the greatest gift ever given – The Only Begotten of the Father, wrapped for mankind to open.  To those who know this Gift as their Savior they will celebrate CHRISTMAS!!!   Not a day but there celebration will be of a person, Jesus, the Savior of the world.  I hope and trust you have opened this most wonderful of gifts and made Him yours this Christmas.   So to you , I say

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!

THIS IS A GOOD DAY!

 MAYBE TODAY

The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved…is there no balm in Gilead…?” (Jeremiah 8:20, 22).
This was the awful lament of the Jewish people in the time of Jeremiah the prophet as they faced the fact that because of their abandonment of serving the true and Righteous God they had now found themselves captive by the terrible Babylonians. Seeking deliverance, their cry went up to God but because they were unwilling to turn from their sins they found themselves without deliverance. They had squandered a great opportunity. This is quite picturesque of many people today. They are in bondage to Satan. Some are in bondage to failure, disappointment, discouragement, brokenness, or many of the other debilitating enemies we face today. We have the opportunity to turn from sin, situations, and even people who are bringing us into captivity and keeping us there, but we find that too often we refuse to turn and end up crying as did the Israelite’s…The summer is over and we are not saved. My prayer is that today you will turn from sin and turn to the Lord Jesus. Then we would be able to say, “This is the day the Lord hath made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.”
